Ardbeg Limited Edition 2012
This special release of Ardbeg was released as a celebration of the first whisky in space. An Ardbeg sample was taken to the International Space Station to observe the spirit's maturation in a near-zero gravity environment. The celebratory vintage bottling used casks from 1999, a portion of which were Marsala wine casks that had spent 12 years maturing their Ardbeg contents, to give a rich, tropical fruity sweetness to the edition's profile.
